Garth Brooks, Kid Rock + More Added to George Jones’ Final Concert in Nashville

Legendary country singer George Jones will perform the final concert date of his career at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013. The iconic country favorite will be joined by an all-star cast for his big send-off, and now Garth Brooks, Kid Rock, Shelby Lynne, the Oak Ridge Boys and Sam Moore have been announced for the historic event.
Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Lorrie Morgan, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner and Gene Watson are also slated to appear to pay tribute to Jones’ decades in the business, during which time he has often been called “the greatest living country singer.” Jones has scored 143 Top 40 hits, including ‘I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair,’ ‘Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes,’ ‘White Lightning’ and ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today.’ He has also won two Grammys, and was presented with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Jones was a 2008 Kennedy Center Honor recipient, is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and holds a National Medal of Arts medallion.
Jones will embark on the 44-date ‘The Grand Tour’ this year, culminating in the special Nashville farewell show. “Being joined by so many incredible singers while doing what I love will be truly heartwarming,” he says in a press release. “It’s shaping up to be more than I expected or could have ever imagined.”
