The Galuchie Fire west of Loveland, near Storm Mountain, is now 100% contained after burning 14 acres according to the Forest Service. The Larimer County Sherriff's Office is asking you to use extreme caution with any potential source of ignition, including campfires, slash pile burns, cigarette butts, exhaust systems in grassy areas and any other source that could potentially start a fire.

While conditions are not yet severe enough for a fire ban or a restriction, we are in that time of year where vegetation has yet to "green-up" further increasing the fire risk. Conditions are being evaluated on an on-going basis. While a fire ban or restriction is not being imposed, we are requesting the public's assistance and vigilance. Please be careful and assist us to protect our county and its residents from fire danger.
