The Larimer County Sheriff's Office warns of fraudulent activity in the area - this time, individuals are targeting civilians by pretending to be from Larimer County Search and Rescue, Inc.

According to a press release from the LCSO, these individuals have been soliciting donations and requesting access to non-public facilities posing as Larimer County Search and Rescue, Inc.

LCSO warns that, while Search and Rescue continues to rely heavily on community donations and does occasionally request use of non-public facilities for training purposes, these fraudulent individuals do not have correct Search and Rescue identification.

If you are approached by anyone seeking money or requesting to use your facilities for "Search and Rescue," check to see if they have the LCSAR logo on their uniform and their LCSAR ID badge, which can be shown upon request. If they are unable to provide legitimate LCSAR identification, please notify police.
