The Fort Collins Senior Center has been providing services to the community since 1995. On June 24, 2015, community members were invited to join in for an afternoon of fun activities to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Throughout the afternoon, guests stopped by to enjoy lunch that included delicious hot dogs, straight off the grill, while spending the afternoon out on the beautiful patio with friends, family and music. The lunch served as a way to honor long-term employees and volunteers that have supported the Senior Center. Visitors were also able to participate in free programs and classes that were taking place throughout the day.

The Senior Center offers a wide variety of classes for the older adult with fun and enriching opportunities, ranging from dancing and crafting to educational and recreational activities.

When the Senior Center was originally built in 1995, it was aimed to accommodate  a community of about 120,000 people, 15% of which were seniors at that time. In 2014, the Center underwent a $6.8 million expansion project, which allowed for many additional features including a cardio-fitness room, a wellness center, additional multi-purpose rooms, as well as an auditorium that has virtual broadcasting capabilities. The expansion was definitely necessary due to the fact that by 2014, the Senior Center now had to serve the growing Fort Collins community of over 155,000 people, with approximately 20% of the citizens being seniors.
