O.K. I admit it. I never tried it, but a mid-town Fort Collins restaurant is closing its doors after 6 years in business. The Coloradoan reports that El Monte Grill and Lounge, near the corner of Prospect Road and College Avenue, decided to close on Thursday.

The restaurant is owned by the same team that owns Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant and the new Rare Italian.

The bottom line is the restaurant was not a financial success. Nearly 30 workers at El Monte Grill lost their jobs. Some have been offered opportunities at Rare and the Rio.
