The Larimer County Sheriff's Office got a call late Wednesday afternoon with reports of a man threatening to kill a resident in unincorporated Larimer County. The man was believed to have a gun.

According to a press release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office they responded to a call about a man threatening the life of another in the 6600 block of East CR 66 Wednesday afternoon. 911 dispatchers told the caller to lock himself in a room in the house.

When officers arrived they found  30-year-old William Scott Pettigrew of Fort Collins, the man suspected of threatening the resident. Pettigrew was instructed to get down on the ground and initially followed instructions, but before being captured, Pettigrew fled on foot.

Deputies searched the area and when Pettigrew was spotted again they released a Larimer County Sheriff's Office K-9 who caught up with and secured him.

Pettigrew was taken to a local hospital for dog bite injuries to is arm and later booked into the Larimer County Jail on allegations of 1st Degree Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Obstructing Government Operations and
Violation of Bail Bond Conditions / 5 Counts (Class 6 Felonies).

Pettigrew was out on bond for multiple felony offenses in Adams County. He was also known to have had an extensive history with the law including possessing and using a firearm.
