Fort Collins Man Arrested for Drunk Bicycling

A Fort Collins man is accused of drunken-bicycling following an Old Town police chase that ended after an officer pulled in front of the cyclist. 32-year-old Phillip Bass was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital for minor cuts early Tuesday morning before he was booked on 11 misdemeanor and traffic charges connected with the mile-long pursuit. Bass admitted to drinking at an Old Town bar and smoking marijuana. He faces a misdemeanor drunken-bicycling charge, three traffic charges of disregarding stop signs, a charge of careless driving, failing to ride in the right-hand lane, failure to use a front light visible from 500 feet, misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer, riding on a crosswalk, misdemeanor criminal mischief and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
