Fort Collins Has Big Plans For Earth Day This Week

I am not a tree-hugger, but I recycle.   I like flowers and trees and I am pretty fond of our planet. Sunday, April 22nd is the day we celebrate that planet. It’s Earth Day!  The City of Fort Collins is involved in a number of events this week to celebrate Earth Day:

Roll Into Spring

April 17-21
Participate in a variety of fun bicycle events to welcome the spring season.

CSU Earth Day

Wed., April 18
10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Live music, educational booths and displays.

Poop Dee Doo

Sat., April 21
9 a.m.-noon
Pineridge Natural Area & Spring Canyon Park, 2626 W. Horsetooth Rd.
A volunteer clean-up of the dog park and natural area; includes team competitions with prizes, prize drawings and a tennis ball drop.

Earth Day Fort Collins

Civic Center Park, 201 LaPorte Ave.
Celebrate Year of Water 2012 and enjoy Earth Day with the entire family. Local food, music, speakers, arts and crafts, and a variety of booths.

Film Fest, Bike Tour & Nibble Garden

Sun., April 22
11 a.m. -10 p.m.
Behavioral Sciences Bldg., Rm. 131, CSU campus
A full day of films to celebrate Earth Day, a bike tour of local sustainability projects, and the opportunity to help start a nibble garden to highlight the importance of healthy, local food.
