Despite a time of a rental crunch in Fort Collins, it seems the you plus two rule is here to stay.

The unrelated ordinance in Fort Collins, known by most as the 'you plus two' rule is definitely here to stay. The ordinance, that has been around for decades, was designed to only allow a set number of unrelated people to live together. Some say that the ordinance, amongst other things, drives up rents and makes it tougher for low-income residents to find housing in the city.

The ordinance is policed, if caught renters face fines in the thousands.
