Fort Collins is on track to break its record for the earliest snowfall ever. According to the Coloradoan, the earliest measurable snowfall in Fort Collins since 1889 was recorded on Sept. 12 — that happened twice, once in 1974 and again in 1989.

But this week's National Weather Service forecast predicts snow late tonight into Friday morning in Fort Collins. Rain tonight could turn into snow as temperatures are expected to reach a low near 35 degrees.

If it snows tonight (September 11), that will break the 125-year record for earliest snowfall in Fort Collins.
