A former Berthoud police officer accused by his teenage daughter beating her with ropes and tying her hands has pleaded not guilty to four counts of child abuse and one count of false imprisonment.

Jeremy Yachik appeared in Larimer County Court on Monday. Yachik will now face a four-day jury trial, set to begin March 11.

Loveland police brought charges against him after Yachik's ex-fiance forwarded cell phone video of one of the incidents to police, the media and town officials. Yachlik was placed on leave on Oct. 3rd and fired on Oct. 25th.

Berthoud officials decided to have Larimer County Sheriff's Sgt. John Feyen serve as the town's police chief during the investigation.
