We all hate to admit when our Boulder beats us. But, they have. They took the number one spot on the list of best cities for female entrepreneurs. The Denver metro area came in third, just ahead of Fort Collins at number ten. Forbes reported that Fort Collins has 3.38 female-owned businesses per 100 people.

Over the last year, I have met a handful of inspirational women from Northern Colorado who have transformed their passion into small businesses, from Kathleen Baumgarnder at the FoCo Cafe, to the Angie and Tina Swanson at UKA Market, to Julia DiVerdi at The Cupcake Cabaret. It's awesome to see the community get some national recognition.
