Flood Damage Keeps Hermit Park in Estes Park Closed

Flood washed out road at Hermit Park near Estes Park
Larimer County Department of Natural Resources

Hermit Park Open Space in Estes Park remains closed due to the damage from the recent flooding. Larimer County Natural Resources‘ staff is working with Larimer County Engineers to assess the damage.

Many of the unpaved roads throughout the 1360-acre open space were severely impacted due to heavy rains. For now Hermit Park Open Space remains inaccessible to visitors.

Park staff is hopeful that the situation will be largely resolved by the start of the 2014 camping season.
