I love Friday. Friday is when I get to dig into the corners of the country music vault and pull out some things I haven't heard in some time. Today's Friday Flashback is rather timely. It was on this date back in 1970 that the legend himself, Merle Haggard, went to the top of the charts with what Toby Keith calls 'the original angry American' song..."The Fighting Side of Me"

I have always loved this tune and it probably means as much to me today as it ever did. Let's enjoy a little trip back in time when that outlaw blood was coursing strongly through the veins of Mr. Haggard. Enjoy!
