Flags Across Colorado Fly at Half-Staff to Honor John McCain
Yesterday, Governor Hickenlooper ordered that flags on all public buildings across the state be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday to honor the late Sen. John McCain, who died Saturday of brain cancer. A funeral for the Arizona Republican will be at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday.
“John McCain dedicated his life to serving this country. We (and the world) lost an incredible leader. He could never have imagined how much he’ll be missed,” Hickenlooper said in a statement.
According to 7News Denver, Hickenlooper’s announcement comes after flags at the White House were brought back to full-staff Monday at the White House because Trump hadn’t issued a presidential proclamation ordering they be flown at half-staff all week.
