Today is Flag Day. President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th as Flag Day back in 1949. Few things fill me with pride more than seeing the streets lined with the red, white and blue flying proud. If you a have a flag in your home or business get it out and let that baby fly today. Look at it and think about all the sacrifices that have been made in the name of the freedom that banner represents. Think of all the places in the world that it has flown and the men and women who have defended it.

When it comes to flying your flag there are a few do's and dont's:

Do fly the flag from sunup to sundown. Leave it our overnight only in a well-lit area.

Don't display the flag with its blue field of stars facing down, it is a signal of extreme distress.

Do keep the flag from touching anything below it.

Don't raise it in the rain, sleet or snow.
