Our very first Teacher Tuesday winner for the 2015-2016 school year is Deborah Taylor. Mrs. Taylor is  a second grade teacher at Dunn Elementary in Fort Collins. I could tell right away that this teacher makes a difference.  She had me taking my pulse right along with the class before I could even start the Teacher Tuesday presentation.

This YouTube video, shot and edited by Drew from Star Painter Productions, shows Mrs. Taylor's connection with the class and how much each and every student means to her. We shared a few laughs and tears and I even got a hug before it was over.

If your teacher is chosen as our teacher of the week, they will win a prize pack that includes a $50 gift card to Rodizio Grill in Fort Collins, a flower bouquet from Earle's Flowers and Gifts in Loveland, a copy of Paul Wozniak's back-country action adventure story, "Stranded in a Snowstorm" and a video of the Teacher Tuesday presentation from Star Painter Productions!

Here is the letter that inspired us to pick Mrs. Taylor:

Mrs. Taylor is truly an angel sent for children. She is so patient, loving, and exciting all at once. As we know children love to test the boundaries when their normal schedule is interrupted, which is exactly what happened with my daughter last year. When it may have been easier to give up on a child who's acting out, and label them as a 'bad kid' Mrs. Taylor worked every day with me to make sure that we unveiled every truly special quality that she believed my daughter had in her. As a parent, I am so grateful that there are teachers like Mrs. Taylor, who truly care about children, and work hard to make sure they are successful, not just academically, but in every aspect of life. I can't think of a teacher more deserving of special recognition, Mrs. Taylor is the best!
