I had the pleasure and honor of hosting the Fire Fighter Charity Ball on Saturday night at the Hilton Fort Collins to benefit the Terry Farrell Firefighter's Fund.  The 2nd-year event raised over $30,000 to help firefighters that serve our communities in Colorado. The fund helps firefighters and their families with educational, medical and equipment needs.

The highlight of the event was a keynote speech by Brian Farrel who founded the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund in 2001 after he lost his brother on 911 in the 2001 World Trade Center attacks.  Farrell was shocked to discover many fire department across the country lack the basic equipment they need to function, which inspired him to create the Terry Fund.

The most touching moments for me on Saturday were when the Colorado Emerald Society Pipe & Drums played "Amazing Grace" in honor of all fallen fire fighters and when firefighter Barrett Fisher described how the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund helped his family personally. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.

My wife Jenny captured many of the great moments with her camera.
