I'm not really a big movie person -- unless John Hughes made it. His film Ferris Bueller's Day Off will be showing on May 15 in Fort Collins at the Cinemark for its 30th anniversary, so I've put together a list of my favorite '80s flicks.

I don't know why it is that I am so drawn to '80s teen movies, because I wasn't even alive when they were made. I was, however, introduced to them by my parents at a young age; my mom being in her late teens/early twenties when most of them came out (she'll deny that), so maybe that's why I feel a special connection.

There are so many great classics, cult, and critically acclaimed; Some Kind of Wonderful to The Breakfast Club to Say Anything (man, do I love me some Cusack...) , or chick flicks like Dirty Dancing and Footloose. And, of course, Ferris Bueller.

Those are my honorable mentions, but these films, however, are my top five 80s movies of all time.

You can enter for your chance to win a pair of tickets to see the special showing of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, on May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Cinemark on Timberline in Fort Collins.
