Weld Food Bank had a 41% increase in turkey requests this year, and they need help from the community to make sure everyone has a Thanksgiving dinner. There are 4,219 turkey requests and with less than 2 weeks before the big day, the food bank only has 135 turkeys.
The food bank will be at Greeley Walmarts, Greeley Sam's Club, and the Ken Pratt Walmart in Longmont on Saturday Nov. 23rd. Staff and volunteers will be collecting turkeys to feed families in need. Turkeys can also be brought to Weld Food Bank at 1108 H Street in Greeley. The food bank is open Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Turkeys can also be dropped off at Wing Shack locations in Garden City, Greeley, and Windsor. If you bring a turkey to a Wing Shack location you can receive 6 free wings. Wing Shacks are open 7 days a week.
