Additional Information

For over 25 years, the mission of the Alliance for Suicide Prevention has been to prevent suicide in Larimer County by raising awareness, educating and training youth and adults about depression and suicide, and proving resources and support to those who have been impacted. Like many community health problems, increased community awareness is key in creating change. Research indicates that communities that are informed and made aware of suicide prevention services have reduced number of suicide deaths. For this reason, the agency's prevention efforts focus on reducing the stigma attached to mental illness and educating people about depression and bipolar disorder in order to promote better recognition, diagnosis, and treatment, thus preventing suicides. As a community we must come together to create change. We must be caring and tolerant of those affected by depression, other mental illnesses, and suicide. We must be educated and encouraged to recognize, intervene, and support those in need. I encourage you join the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County in taking that step as a community.

This hopeful event will be start at the Colorado State University Oval at 8:00am. For more information about registration, volunteering or any of our programs, please call 970-482-2209 or visit www.allianceforsuicideprevention.org.
