Veteran Justice Advocate Program is a not-for-profit organization (501(c)(3) pending) providing veteran-to-veteran mentoring and in-court advocacy for U.S. military veterans.  We specialize in working with veterans who have had misdiagnosed mental health issues that have led to criminal behavior.  VJAP works to shift the burden of veteran care from the local/county level back to the federal level where money is budgeted for rehabilitation.  VJAP’s work involves facilitating mental health evaluations, coordination with federal veteran organizations in providing appropriate services to veterans, providing access to other non-profit veteran-related service providers.  Donations to VJAP go towards in-court advocacy, legal representation, coordination with VA and other veteran service providers, legislative activities, and business operations.  More information about VJAP is available on their website (www.vjap.us).
