Additional Information

Join us at 2 p.m. on July 24, 2014 at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures to create a Native American Treasure Bag! Traditionally called a Medicine Bag, these small leather pouches were used by the village Shaman to carry natural remedies along with representations of spirit animals believed to heal the sick. Today’s Medicine Bags hold treasures dear to our hearts. Parents may put a lock of their child’s hair in it; children carry a favorite toy, charm, or marble in theirs. Join the museum staff to participate in this deeply rooted Native American tradition and make a Treasure Bag of your own! What treasures will you put inside? Admission is $5 and includes materials, snack, and museum's four galleries.

Please RSVP at 970.221.4600 before July 22.
