Additional Information

Join the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures on Friday, February 5, for the 6 p.m. grand opening of an exceptional exhibit -- "China's Imperial Treasures: Art & Artifacts." The essence of China is captured with unforgettable treasures such as the five-foot-long, six-foot-high jade dragon boat which weighs approximately 400 pounds! From minuscule paintings on grains of rice to contemporary porcelain vases, a broad array of materials are represented including jade, bronze, porcelain, silk, agate, silver, ivory, and wood. Rich with traditional motifs, scenes from daily life, and cultural symbolisms, each treasure provides an awe-inspiring perspective on the exotic and mysterious country of China.

The February 5th opening will also feature half-price admission to the Museum: $2.50 for adults; $1.50 for seniors and students; and 50 cents for youth. A 501(c)(3) corporation, the Museum's mission is to foster and celebrate international connections between Northern Colorado and the world through exhibits of folk art, fine arts, and artifacts from around the globe.
