Some Gave All and All Gave Some” is a slogan you know I mention every single Monday and it has special meaning for those at the Evans VFW #6624.  In fact, it means so much to them, they honor it every year with a very special event in honor of one of their own.

It was on 10 January 2009, the lives of those VFW members changed when Army Staff Sgt. Justin Bauer was the first active military member the VFW #6624 Post had that was Killed In Action while serving our country.

In his honor, the Evans VFW have held a Memorial Run in Sgt. Bauer's name with all proceeds going to local charities who assist veterans and their families. This year proceeds will be split between the Wounded Warrior Project and the Veterans Service Officer Fund.

ALL community members are asked to come and help this great cause during the 5th Annual Justin Bauer Memorial Run on Sunday September 8, 2013. Registration starts at 9:00 AM at the Evans VFW Post located at 3501 State Street Evans, CO. Cost is $20 and includes your lunch. Breakfast items will also be on hand for $2.00.

If you don't own a Hot Rod or Harley (any bike or vehicle welcome) then come eat lunch with these great people at Noon at the VFW in Evans. Cost is only $5.00.

Stops include Sonny's in Severence, Burnout Grill in Milliken, Derby Grille in Berthoud, the Platteville VFW, Eagles Post in LaSalle and the run ends back at the Evans VFW.

There will music, great food, prizes and some really good auction items I know you will have an interest in.  I would be there for sure but I will be returning from our Journey 4 Justice National Rally in Topeka Kansas on the same day so please ride for me.
