Lake Loveland's swim beach closed down at noon today (Tuesday), after tests found high levels of E. Coli in the water.

The beach at North Lake Park, 2626 N. Lake Ave., is closed to all swimmers until further notice. City Recreation Supervisor Tim Larkin said that the elevated sample was taken Sunday and is likely a the result of a faulty test.

Officials say the lake has closed down before for this same reason; but it's always been due to a faulty test, and the beach has immediately re-opened.

A re-test has already been done, and we should have the results by Wednesday.

I don't know about you, but I'm rooting for another faulty test.  After all, folks need to keep cool in this Summer heat!
