I no longer feel safe on the roads of northern Colorado. I am terrified every time I get behind the wheel. People are just crazy out there now. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry and paying less attention to the task of driving and driving safely. When you are in a hurry and driving recklessly you are putting the lives of everyone out on the roads in danger. Men and women who are just trying to get home or to the store or work may never get there because some idiot was running a bit late or sending a text.

When you are behind the wheel, your only job is to navigate your vehicle safely for you and your passengers and all other occupants of the roadways. You do not own the road and your agenda does not come before everyone else. We have lost too many wonderful people way too young because of carelessness on the roadways. Please take a deep breath and realize the seriousness of the responsibility of operating a vehicle on the roads. There are so many families who are counting on you to pay attention so their loved ones can make it home safely. Leave early if you are always running behind, look two or three times at intersections and be a courteous driver. It has turned into a raceway out there and I am scared as hell every time I drive. We can make a difference. Vow to take your driving more serious. Our lives are counting on it. We can't keep losing our loved ones just because someone wasn't paying attention.
