Tonight at 8:30 on PBS there is documentary about the Morrill Act, which was produced at CSU in Fort Collins.  I know my wife and I are planning on watching it, but you are probably thinking, "What the heck is the Morrill Act"? Well, let me tell you.

The Morrill Act was a piece of legislation signed in 1862 by President Abraham Lincoln that created the nation’s land-grant university system. Colorado State University is the only land-grant institution in Colorado. The documentary,  "A Degree of Democracy" shows what led to the creation of the Morrill Act and the impact of the universities that grew out of that act.

The film was produced by CSU’s Department of External Relations with support from: University of California-Berkeley, Ohio State, Iowa State, Cornell, University of Vermont and Alcorn State.
