I tend to call them 'farm roads' for some reason.

Probably because farms are mostly what you see when you drive along the two lane roads east of I-25 in Northern Colorado.

My daily trek takes me from midtown Fort Collins to east Windsor. I usually take Harmony all the way to 257 which becomes 7th St. in Windsor. It's a pretty chill commute.

Hopping on I-25 raises my blood pressure, as going 75 mph probably should. Also, once I'm east of Timnath, there is only one more light (Harmony Golf Course) between me and my broadcast, for which I need to be on time. Lights are variables that can slow me down, so even though I can go faster on I-25, I think it may be better to have nothing impeding my journey.

257 - Entrance to Everywhere in Fort Collins

On the way back, I can be in any part of Fort Collins by heading north on 257 instead of I-25.

  • 74 is Harmony
  • Drake and Horsetooth don't connect to the eastern plains
  • 80 is Prospect
  • Colorado Highway 14 is Mulberry
In between and beyond, there are innumerable country roads. Sometimes they connect you to where you are going, sometimes they don't. Some run right into little lakes, make a big turn, and you come out in a housing subdivision. Others run you right through working farms.
