Some Christians and Christmas enthusiasts alike are outraged over Starbucks' new red coffee cups. Why? The words "Merry Christmas" are absent from the red and green cups.

Red and green are commonly associated with Christmas - so why would they leave those words off?

Without me googling the answer, I'm guessing it's because they don't want to exclude those who do not celebrate Christmas, and that's fine. No one wants to be offended and no one SHOULD BE offended.

At the same time, I'm one of those individuals that says "Merry Christmas" to everyone, unless I KNOW they don't celebrate Christmas. I'm not super offended that Starbucks took "Merry Christmas" off its red cups, but why couldn't it have created another line of holiday-themed cups to make everyone else happy? I'll never know or understand, I guess.

I know other people that make a point to say "Merry Christmas" to other people, even if they don't celebrate the holiday.

You tell me - what do you say?
