When it comes to Christmas trees, my family and I always used to buy a real tree. I was convinced that you had to have a real tree to get the feel and smell of Christmas. We had a tradition of going out together and picking the perfect tree. Then we would soak it in a bucket overnight, trim the trunk and then decorate. We would finish the tree and step back to admire our work. It was then my old Australian Sheppard Husky mix dog named Sinatra would walk up to the tree and pee on it. He was always so excited that we gave him indoor plumbing for Christmas.

Last year we didn't have time to go out and get a tree so we set up the artificial one we had in a box in the garage since the day we got it. It looked great and was very easy to set up and there are no needles all over the carpet. We went with the fake one again this year for the ease of it. We may be getting lazy, okay, we ARE getting lazy.

I am sure we will get real trees now and then but I have learned that a fake tree really isn't all that bad. How about your family? Do you go real or fake?
