Fort Collins is home to one of the very few remaining drive in theaters in North America. Drive ins saw their heyday in the 1950′s and 60′s when there were almost 5,000 operating. They have been in decline ever since.

But they are so much fun! We went this weekend and had a great time.

I hesitate to be ‘sad’ over declining mediums. If they were in tune with what people want, they wouldn’t be in decline. But it was very cool to see the line of cars wrapped around the block waiting to get in to the drive in to see Men in Black III, the Hunger Games, the Avengers and Dark Shadows. Sure, it was a holiday weekend, but the Fort Collins Holiday Twin Drive in Theater seems to be doing quite well.
