Once a week my hometown newspaper, the Greeley Tribune, puts together what they call their Crime Log. Basically they find the weirdest stuff that the cops encountered, and believe me there is a lot in the town over the previous week. This week, reports of a firework knocking a plane out of the sky on the Fourth of July

I can only imagine the things people in the emergency profession see and hear on the Fourth of July. I am sure there are a few missing limbs, some nasty burns, and then you get the drunks... Although I don't know for sure, I am going to chalk this up to the whole drinking too much in the hot sun all day excuse...

July 4, 9 p.m.: A caller said someone in the area of 23rd Avenue and 6th Street set off a firework and then a large ball of light was seen in the sky. The caller said it looked like something caught on fire and then crashed near the Greeley airport. The caller was afraid it was an airplane, and said she knew she sounded crazy but everyone was in awe by what they saw. An officer drove through the area of the airport and was unable to find “any possible crash site for anything.”

Now let me remind you that on the Fourth of July we celebrate our countries birthday by shooting loud, bright, balls of fire into the sky. They are called fireworks, and I am not 100 percent positive, but pretty sure that they aren't capable of taking out airplanes. You're right, lady, you are CRAZY!!
