The National Western Stock Show has gotten attention for some pretty entertaining reasons this past week, but I'm not sure that's what the organizers had in mind when coining the name 'Bison Hump Day.'  It can be assumed that bison are breeding and that it's on Wednesday.  Simple enough, no overthinking involved, the name clearly indicates what it's about... On to the next order of business.

While a focus on keeping bison from facing near-extinction (as they once did) by encouraging them to breed heavily is an outstanding idea, I can certainly understand how Denver 7's Molly Hendrickson struggled to read this story with any seriousness.

I'm curious what this rancher's association came up with to make bison want to mate more.  Better bison hair styles?  55-gallon drums of wine and fine snacking grass?  A bison singles club?  It is Denver, now.
