There aren't many substances that can sell for $3,000 per pound.

Gold nuggest, weed nuggets, and...well, that's about it.

So, it's no surprise that as many people as possible are attempting to cash in on the 'green rush' in Colorado.

However, the city of Denver is ready to put the opening of new retail marijuana dispensaries on hold. They are assessing the situation, and for now, and perhaps the next two years, will not allow any more to open, as they say there is plenty of saturation in the marijuana market.

How many stores are there? Well, you know the old joke about crossing the street to a Starbucks because the Starbucks you were at was already too crowded? Well, Denver has more weed shops than Starbucks. That's a lot of stores.

Now, they want to push pause and not issue any more licenses to open new dispensaries, at least for a little while until they can see what kind of other impacts the influx of cannabis will have on the city and state.

Meetings and debate on this potential measure will begin later in November.
