This burger joint in Denver had a fire and had to close late last year, but came back to life earlier this year. You should visit them - and get some peanut butter on that burger!

The folks at Thrillist recently released their list of the top 31 burger joints in America and a Denver joint that’s been in business since 1945 made the list! Imagine just how many burger joints there ARE in Denver- this place must be FANTASTIC.

It’s Cherry Cricket. I’ve never heard of it, but a lot of folks have: They have over 16,000 likes on Facebook and over 5,700 followers on Twitter, so they must be doing something right.  They like to call themselves the ‘black sheep’ of Cherry Creek North. They’re not fancy, and they don’t plan on BEING fancy. Good for them!

They had a fire just before Thanksgiving of 2016 that shut them down until April of 2017. In an interview with Eater Denver, they boasted how they didn’t really change anything with the renovation, except for sprucing up the bathrooms a bit.  Now, they are back to doing what they love: Burgers, Beers and Frings (which I guess are French fries and onion rings together.) They do have a pretty extensive list of items you can add to your Cricket Burger; such as peanut butter, green Chile strips and eggs (any style.)

All this talk about the joint has made me hungry! It’s an hour and 7 minutes from the radio station to Cherry Cricket.  I’ll be back in 3 hours!
