Michaella Surat, the 22-year-old CSU student that was shown being thrown to the ground by a Fort Collins police officer in spring of 2017 faces two misdemeanors in court this week.

The video below not only went went viral last April after being shared on Barstool Sports, but it divided the community. After Surat got into an argument with police outside of Bondi Beach Bar in Old Town Fort Collins, many protested, stating that police used excessive force on a woman of Surat's size. After investigation, however, Officer Randy Klasmer was cleared.

Surat went on Good Morning America to tell her side of the story. On Monday, January 8, she will go to trial for resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer, according to KDVR.
