On Monday (Feb 9) morning, Poudre Fire Authority crews answered a call to a residence with a donkey trapped in a swimming pool. The donkey stepped out onto the pool cover, falling into the deep end after being scared by a coyote. According to the Coloradoan, the pool was not full at the time, however there was standing water. By the time authorities arrived, the owners had led the donkey to the shallow end of the pool. The animal was then lead up the stairs to dry land by firefighters. The coyote is still at large, and no humans or animals were harmed during the rescue.
