The truth is much of the hate many of us in Colorado feel for Cutler stems from the fact that people feel that he turned his back on us (the same way Baltimore fans feel about Elway). This causes many to dismiss his accomplishments and focus on anything he does that we can pick him apart for. The fact is, Jay is twice as talented as any QB the we currently have on our roster, and as of right now Jay is more like a young John Elway than Jeff George. In fact, the entire bears team reminds me of the broncos of the 1980s. They are totally stout on defense, have basically nothing on offense, except a young QB with a rocket arm, who people think has entitlement issues. As for what happened yesterday, because of personal experience I refuse to speculate about injuries and how bad they are. About 10 years ago I injured my knee. It was easily the most painful experience of my life up to that point. Immediately after it happened I couldn’t bend it or put any weight on it. The doctor told me it was “only a sprained MCL” and if I iced it down and, stayed off of it for a few days, it would be fine. And sure enough after a few days it was. But I got grief about it for quite awhile because I couldn’t just “suck it up.” Then about three years after that, during a company softball game, I twisted the same knee. This time it wasn’t nearly as painful, so I finished the game, went out for beers afterward, and drove myself home (remember kids, don’t drink and drive ;P). When I awoke the next morning, I still wasn’t in that much pain, although it was worse than the day before, however my knee had swollen to the size of a small basketball. I went to the doctor and he said I had completely torn through my ACL. The human body is a funny thing, and nobody should ever judge how much pain somebody else is in, because the truth is we don’t know.
