You can play in the street without getting in trouble. FC Bikes is encouraging the public to get out and play in the streets of Fort Collins with a new event titled "Open Streets". A few streets will be closed to motorized traffic and transformed into a street park where people can connect while exercising and playing, and businesses can interact with the public. Fort Collins’ first Open Streets will happen Sunday, July 20 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

WHERE IS IT?

A section of the city will be The route for Open Streets will include East Laurel Street (Remington to Lesser Drive) and Whedbee Street (Laurel Street to Prospect Road).

 ACTIVITIES

The public can walk, bike, skate and more in a safe and comfortable environment, while enjoying a large number of diverse activities. Planned activities include: painting, yoga and Zumba classes, Frisbee, mini massages, bicycle obstacle course, games, scavenger hunt, product sampling, food, music and more! There also will be free injury consultations and vision screenings available.

A second event is proposed for September 14, 2014 on West Elizabeth Street from Shields Street to Overland Trail.
