I'm pretty sure every kid who doesn't hate water dreams of summer trips to Water World. We all know it's a pretty cool place, but now the USA Today Reader's Choice Poll has given it an 'official' ranking of the sixth-best water park in the entire country!

Here is what the poll had to say about our beloved Water World:

Just outside of Denver is where you'll find our sixth-place finisher, Water World. The park offers 49 attractions spread across 64 acres, including the Mile High Flyer, a "hydromagnetic" water coaster perfect for the thrill-seeking guest.

I think one of the things I admire about the place is that they continue to add more rides and attractions, while still keeping most of the older attractions in good condition. It seems some other water parks I've visited kind of forget about the older rides and they end up looking trashy and unsafe. In my humble opinion Water World does a pretty solid job of maintaining their park and keeping it a place I look forward to visiting in the summers.

What parks beat out Water World in the poll?

  1. Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indina
  2. Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Texas
  3. Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
  4. Great Wolf Wilderness Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia
  5. Wilderness Territory in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

I haven't been to any of those, those I guess Water World is #1 in my book.

It you wanna get your Water World fix, you'd better hurry. They're only open seven days a week until August 18th, after that it's weekends only. Then Monday September 2nd (Labor Day) will be their last of the 2013 season. (Click here for the Water World schedule.)

What do you think? Is Water World deserving of the number six spot? Or should it be higher or lower on the list?
