There's a contender to cheer for every season lately in the Choice City.

CSU Volleyball went deep into the National Tournament. The Rams played football in Vegas in a big bowl game. America heard about the pep rally from both teams' fans through social media.

As soon as the men's basketball team took the court this season, expectations were high. We loved watching them in the tourney last year! I, very illogically, picked them to beat Louisville. It didn't work out. If you can't tell by my writing style, I'm a homer. Sometimes, I'd rather lose a bet than bet against my team. I usually keep the stakes pretty low.

I would have taken Colorado State over San Diego State tonight. Again, because of homerism. Again, I would have been wrong. They lost to the Aztecs.

San Diego State is proving to be a problem to everyone in the Mountain West, except their fans. They've won a couple Mountain West titles in almost as many years. They are strong to the hoop.

In Colorado, we can be known more for cowboys and skiers than ballers, but I hope that Colorado State keeps up this pace. I think that with Larry Eustachy, some really magical things could happen in the future.

If Colorado State was a bubble team, this doesn't help. Talk last night was about how Wyoming's only chance to advance through selection Sunday was to beat San Diego State and win the Mountain West Tourney. Colorado State has a better record than Wyoming, so, we'll see what happens.

Whoever makes it, fill out a bracket with me. I'll have all my picks ready for next week, so come on back soon!
