It was a scary moment during the game on Tuesday night, when a hit by Carlos Gonzales of the Colorado Rockies drilled Arizona Diamondbacks Pitcher Archie Bradley in the face, coming off of the bat at a speed of 115 mph.

The ball to the face immediately knocked Bradley to the ground and left the entire stadium silent, wondering the extent of his injuries. After lying face down and motionless for several minutes, Bradley was eventually able to walk off the mound and give the crowd a thumbs up before exiting the game for the night. According to the Diamondbacks Club, the pitcher never lost consciousness.

It was tough for viewers to watch, but probably even tougher for CarGo, who smashed the line drive directly into the side of Bradley's face. The Rockies outfielder appeared distraught during and after the incident. In an interview after the game, he expressed how badly he felt, and that he intends to visit Bradley during his recovery.

After a visit to the hospital, it has been determined that Bradley has some slight sinus cavity damage, as well as a very swollen cheek - the size of a baseball! On Wednesday he was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

The Diamondbacks went on to defeat the Rockies Tuesday night with a score of 12-5. The series wraps up  with the final game on at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday night in Arizona.
