A former foster mom who pleaded guilty in the death of her 2-year-old foster daughter has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.

Sarah Finn, 24, was sentenced Monday, according to the Pueblo Chieftain. Finn pleaded guilty to child abuse resulting in death under a plea agreement for the death of Chassie Pietrolungo, which occurred in August 2014.

Both Finn and her husband Paul Finn, 37, had been caring for Pietrolungo when she allegedly suffered a series of falls over a 3-day period. An emergency room doctor told police she was suffering from brain bleed and had injuries to her face, eyes, and buttocks.

Paul Finn was sentenced to 10 years of probation in the case last year.

The couple were in the process of adopting the child through the Fostadopt program, according to police.
