The 44th annual Country Music Association Awards Show was on Wednesday night from Nashville- who DIDN'T want to be there for that party?I thought for the most part, everybody sounded pretty good. Not a rave revue I agree, but some were Great and some were "I don't get it".  Sugarland's "Stuck Like Glue" stood out- From The Boot:

Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles explains, "in the sense that Robert Deaton, who directs the show, came to us and said, 'Let's do this fun idea in a box, in a big velvet red box with lights. We were like, 'Alright, cool,' and as soon as I saw it, I was said, 'This looks cool. It looks like a music-box to me. Awesome. I could be a ballerina; I could be spinning around, Kristian [Bush] could be cranking me up. I could be in a tutu,' and it just went crazy from there. We kept going, 'And then I could walk out of the tutu.' Why not? Obviously, this song is a fun song and has a lot of levity to it, and we wanted to be able to bring that to the performance, as well."

Sugarland has always had a way of standing out during award shows. Plus, Jennifer is contagious. Call her spunky.

I skipped over Kid Rock... I'm not his biggest fan.

I was confused on who got the big stage and who got the 'little room' thing- Sugarland, Zac Brown Band... why?

Reba's "If I Were A Boy"- I thought the audio could have been better, but couldn't argue with the ovations she received at the end.

When Blake Shelton won Male Vocalist Of The Year, I couldn't believe it. Great for him, but I always thought he'd be the guy on the sidelines cheering all the big dogs on but never seeing his day in the sun.  Watching him taking those 6 steps up to accept his award with pride and holding back tears, was worth the whole 3 hour show. I really wish I could have been in Nashville that night to maybe getting the chance at having a beer with the big lug!

Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson- they sounded great!  I kind of thought Jason looked "hollywood"- like he was trying to pull of the Tim McGraw look.  Torn jeans and a sneer- even for a love song- is a better look for the guy.

Miranda- Getting all the props.. Dancing around in circles.. Giving Blake a big "you did it Babe" hug.. It was her show.

Brad and Carrie as hosts- Always a hit- that Lady Gaga shtick was great - Brad does a great deadpan.

Brad Paisley's acceptance for Entertainer of the Year- along with his salute to Country Music song- One cool guy- One who knows where he came from and where Country has come from.  He's like the Tom Hanks of Country.

K99 along with The K99 Good Morning Guys were nominated for this year's awards in the Radio category-

Alas, we did not get to go to the dance.

Next Year......
