The City of Greeley’s “Lights the Nights” annual lighting contest in underway. The rules are simple. Decorate your home or business for the holidays and complete an official “Greeley Lights the Nights” contest application. Only residences and businesses within the Greeley city limits can participate and entries must be received at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Avenue on Dec. 3, by 5 p.m.  Late entries will not be accepted.

WHERE TO GET APPLICATIONS

Applications are available online or at the following city facilities: City Hall, 1100 10th St.; Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Ave.; Family FunPlex, 1501 65th Ave.; Ice Haus, 900 8th Ave.; Rodarte Center, 920 A St.; and the Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave. Judging takes place on Friday, Dec. 5 and Monday, Dec. 3.

WHAT CAN I WIN?

Residential winners will win two free tickets to select 2015 spring shows at the Union Colony Civic Center and a gift basket valued at $50 from the Greeley Chick-Fil-A, 4555 Centerplace Dr. They will also be recognized at the Greeley City Council Meeting on Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m.

Contest categories include: Mayor’s Choice, Best 1st Time Entry, Most Humorous Display, O Holy Night Best Nativity Scene, Up on the Housetop Best Rooftop Display, Should Have Entered Award, The Greeley Tribune Business Award, and the Business Award.
