Cheyenne Frontier Days General Chairman Darin Westby says so far ticket sales for CFD 2013 events are running well ahead of last year.

Westby says that at last report rodeo tickets were running 6% ahead of this time last year, while overall night show ticket sales were up by 8% compared to 2012. But Westby says tickets are still available for all Cheyenne Frontier Days events.

Looking at the preliminary indicators for this year's  CFD Westby says that assuming the weather cooperates  ''We're looking to break all sorts of records, not only for night shows, but overall attendance". Those sentiments are echoed by Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen, who says the strong ticket sales combined with a general increase in statewide tourism numbers this year lead him to expect a strong year in 2013.

Steenbergen adds local merchants are gearing up for what many view as ''a second Christmas season'' during Cheyenne Frontier Days.
