Could it be?  The one the "Birders" call the holy grail of sightings?  Probably not. Most likely not, because when it comes to birds I haven't a clue but I don't think I know what this bird is.  Can you help?

I noticed the hole in this tree about 2 weeks ago and it must have appeared almost overnight because one day it wasn't there and the next it was.  The tree is in a place I walk past literally everyday so I'm not sure how I could have missed the building stage of this.  The whole as you can see looks as though someone took a hole saw to it and I am in amazement since I personally can't draw a circle that well.

These two birds, Fred and Wilma, are very small.  I have tried to snap a few pics from my 'smarty' phone but it's next to  impossible to capture these crafty little beasts; they are quick...and my photo skills suck to be quite honest.  But keep in mind some of these pics took me a half hour to get.  One of the pics was almost an entire 6 pack of waiting!

Is there another bird that pecks holes in trees to nest besides a Woodpecker?  Very small birds at that?  What is this bird?  I need to know before the CNN, MSNBC, FOX News crews and 'birders' from across the world show up in my backyard to behold the mating ritual of the last two Chipperwockydickiedoo's.
