Today is a big day for birthdays in my book. There are two that are very worthy of celebration. Today the King of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley would have turned 84 years old. Happy birthday E. Today also marks the birth of the King of Colorado Country, Bob Purcell.

I have been a fan of both for years. I grew up saving every penny I had to buy Elvis records. I never missed watching one of his movies and will always always remember the night his Aloha From Hawaii TV special aired years ago. It was like a Super Bowl night for me as a child. I can still actually remember that whole day and what we did to kill the time waiting for the broadcast to come on. So much of what I have done in my life was because of my love for the music and coolness of Elvis.

Today is also the birthday of my buddy and King of Colorado Country Bob Purcell. Bob and I both got started about the same time entertaining folks around Northern Colorado and have watched our children grow up together as we have refused to do so. I love Bob more than words and cannot wait to share the stage together one more time at The Last Habajeeba Show on January 25 at the UCCC in Greeley. I could not pick a more fitting way to ride out than with Bob and the boys. Happy birthday to both of you and thank you for the music. I will watch Elvis movies and pull out one of my old K99 Country Cares for Kids Cd's and listen to some Bob Purcell and the Outriders as well. Bob, the birthday boy, and I will see you on the 25th.
