The excitement of next weekend’s CBR Cinch Tour Finale at the Budweiser Events Center isn’t exclusive to the bull riders. All year long, the CBR’s top bulls have been in a race for the coveted bull of the year title, awarded to the bull that carries riders to the most money won during the season.

At stake is a custom 32-foot Neckover livestock trailer and eternal bragging rights. After battling it out all season, the race is so tight that it will all come down to next Saturday’s Championship Round. The battle for Bull of the Year is currently a three-way neck and neck race between Lyndal Hurst’s One Eyed Jack, Air Patrick of Chad Drury’s and 2010 CBR Bull of the Year, Dakota Magic’s Double Scoop.

Double Scoop, owned by Cooper, All Star and Scruggs, is a bull not many stock contractors would be against. After claiming the title last year, he’s continued to perform at into 2011. The Cooper/All Star bull team finished second in the Palace Station Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge race with Double Scoop on the truck. He was also named Bull of the Event in Huron a couple weeks ago so it looks like he’s ready for the showdown.

But if Double Scoop wants to earn back-to-back titles, he’ll need to bring his best game to Loveland because he’s deadlocked with two extremely tough contenders. Chad Drury’s Air Patrick has been getting tougher and tougher this season. He’s a difficult bull to get by but the best riders in the world will be at Loveland ready to give it a shot. If they do cover him, it will be for a lot of points and a pile of money.

The third contender in the Bull of the Year race is One Eyed Jack, owned by Lyndal Hurst. One Eyed Jack has been responsible for numerous high scoring rides this season and has added a couple Bull of the Event titles to his resume. Much like Air Patrick, he’s gotten tougher as the season’s gone on so he’ll definitely challenge Double Scoop and Air Patrick in Loveland.

There will be a lot at stake for riders, stock contractors and bulls in Loveland next Saturday. Stay tuned to CBRBull.com for updates leading up to the CBR Cinch Tour Finale and visit us on Facebook to weigh in with your thoughts on the CBR Neckover Trailers Bull of the Year Race.
